Memories!

Hello peeps,
Today is my baby girls 19th Birthday, I remember my 19th birthdays well, I should do really I had enough of them lol. I always dreaded being the big 30 because as a child I used to tell everyone "my mum's really old she's 30" so I decided to stay 19 for 12 years until I was 31 as 31 was fine I didn't have a problem with that age lol.
It's a bittersweet day for Jodie, her birthday is always tinged with sadness as her friend Sophie should also be with her celebrating their shared birthday but Sophie sadly died of meningitis just over a year ago. They didn't get to go clubbing and buy their first alcholic drink together but like last year Jodie's first vodka will be a toast to Sophie & she'll always be in our thoughts.

The image I've used on Jodie's card I had to buy the minute I saw it as I knew it would be just perfect for Jode with her shoe obsession!
Ingredients -
Image - Mo Manning
Medium - Copics
Paper - Magnolia & DCWV
Flowers - Prima & stash
Pin - homemade
Tools - nesties, MS PATP, Magnolia Doo Hickey heart swirls & antique lace border die, Woodware butterfly die, Spellbinder tags die

Note the shoes are designed by Christian Louboutin lol.
The quote / sentiment is made of vellum and is from a DCWV quotes book which I forgot I had until I discovered it during a rummage in my stash

The photo below is the reason I had to buy the sweet image
She looked so cute.
I took this photo of Jode at my oldest friend Petal's wedding when Jodie was only 19 months old and had a real thing for shoes. These were Petal's nice new stain wedding shoes but Jode spent the majority of the day and evening wearing them so the poor Bride had to go barefoot lol
I'm entering my card in the following challenges -
Mo's Digital Challenges - lets celebrate, CES - embellish me more, One Stop Craft - girlie, Sweet Stampin' - flowers, Card Makin' Mamas - punches, If The Shoe Fits - bejeweled blue, Flutterby Wednesday - anything goes, Kelley's Kids - girly girl, Delightful Challenges - girly girl

I've had a bit of a mishap and have slipped a disc in my back and my god it's painful, honestly I reckon I should just wrap myself in cotton wool and stay in bed where it's safer lol. It's difficult to sit upright for very long so I've not been able to do any card making or blogging for the past few days so apologies to those of you I haven't made it round to.
Thanks for stopping by

  2. What a gorgeous card (I love the heart on the little girlie's knickers!) and what a fabulous story! I have a photo of me wearing my mum's best hat and shoes and my knickers and nothing else! I was 4, so it was quite a while ago! Aren't our children such fun?!

I hope your back gets better soon, it is so frustrating when something like that happens!

    luv, Mags x
