Hello peeps,
Apologies for not being about much, those new tablets are evil & I've spent a lot of time falling asleep, staggering, slurring and on my knees with my head down the loo, but I have no pain yaaaayyyyyy lol. I have been naughty today and not taken this mornings dose as I wanted to have a few hours of "normality" & catch up with a few things before going ga ga again lol. I have spoken to 2 people who have been through the awful side effects stages & they have both said stick with it and you'll be pleased you did as it will get better & they are brilliant for long term pain, so I am going to keep popping them, you know the old saying "no pain, no gain" well I'm guessing that's the case.
Today is new challenge day at
& this fortnight our challenge is
so we'd love to see you cards with blue as the main colour.
My DT card today is a birthday card I made a couple of weeks ago for my scrummy great nephew Ollie's 1st Birthday
Ingredients -
Image - hAnglar & stAnglar
Medium - Copics
Papers - Magnolia
Sentiment - Magnolia & post marks - Lili of the Valley
Tools - Nesties, Magnolia Doo Hickey flag, Cuttlebug postage stamp die, Tim Holtz Vintage Market alphabet
For those who want the Copic colours I did actually remember to make a note of them!
Skin - E000, E00, E01, E011, R20, Hair - E25, E31,E50, Clothes & Hat - B95, B93, B91, C3, C1, C00, Wings - B000, B00, B01, Shoes - C3, C1, C00
I'm entering my card in the following challenges -
2 Sisters - things with wings, Crafty Emma's - anything goes, Fairy Fun Fridays - things with sparkly wings, Fussy & Fancy - Happy Birthday/ animal print, Inspire Me Fridays - anything goes linky party, Just Magnolia & hAnglar - anything goes, Simply Create Too - lots of layers, Pixie Dust Studio - monochromatic, Flutterby Wednesday - open, The Paper Shelter - anything goes, The Pixie Cottage - monochromatic/sketch, Ruby's Rainbow - child/baby, Anything goes - blue + 1 other colour, Papertake - anything goes
Unfortunately I couldn't go to Ollie's party as I was in too much pain which I was gutted about but I did give Jodie instructions to take lots of piccy's for me and here are a couple of my favourites.
My big baby boy Gareth giving little Ollie his first Ukulele lesson,
and one very happy little Ollie who loves his vibrating ball, awwwwww, he's such a cutie and is always such a happy little man, he even puts up with being smothered with kisses & cuddles without complaining, and trust me he gets a lot of them lol.
That's me done peeps, I am going to whizz round some blogs before I zonk out again.
Thanks for stopping by
Sweet card!!

Mandy your card and Ollie are both simply adorable! I am sorry you missed his party because of the pain and painkillers. It is rough when you first start them, but keep at it, it will get better! Your body will adjust and get used to them and after awhile you will start to have less pain and function much better. I had a great Dr. that let me play with the dosage some, heavy at night, lighter in the day and what times I could take them helped if I had something or somewhere to go. You and your body will learn and it will be so worth it in the end. I have been on the pain meds for over 10 years now and because of them I live a relatively normal life... if there is such a thing! LOL! It just took awhile to find the dose that helped with the pain, but let me function more normally! I have a big shoulder if you ever want to talk... feel free to email me! Keep up your cardmaking and your sense of humor... it will keep you sane! hehehe!

I forgot to thank you for listing the colors you used... that is a great help for us beginners learning what colors go together and look like. Just love the colors you used here, the blues are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks hon!
Oh hun, what a totally gorgeous card (mind you, everything you do is gorgeous so no change there, lol), the colours are fabulous and the image too cute for words, loving the 1st postage stamp detail. Such a shame you missed the party. Sorry that your pills are taking such a toll hun - alcohol produces similar symptoms for me (or is that because I have too much?) - really hope you adjust to them soon and the side effects settle down. It's got to be worth trying if you can be pain free. Huge huggles, Sxxx
