I'm back & Tilda's Gone Cuckoo - Paper Play DT Project

Hello peeps,
I'm soooooooo pleased to be back with you all in the little land of blog! I know most of you didn't realise I'd vanished but I missed you all lol. Blogger has been causing me problems visiting some blogs for a few days & it went completely haywire on me on Wednesday I didn't get chance to enter any of the challenges with the cards I'd just posted, I went to upload my Paper Play DT project in the DT blog and got error code 413 & that was it, a blogger blackout! I couldn't get to my dashboard, comment etc, all I could do was get to my blog which looked to me like a complete jumbled up mess. I thought it was my blog that had gone badly wrong but google help had hundreds of people reporting various 400 error codes from around the world which was a bit of a relief, not for others but for me lol. I have almost had tears and many a tantrum & sworn at blogger repeatedly & kept trying various things trying to access blogger with no joy & then when I was virtually at a complete loss I tried deleting cookies and hey presto it fixed blogger, woo hoo happy dance lol.

Remember that girls, try deleting cookies if you get hit with a dreaded 400 code, or maybe it will help with the various other blogger problems it's worth a try.

I'm a day late closing my candy and was going to do the draw but had a quick glance at Mr Linky and spotted 3 double entry's straight away so to make it fair on everyone I have just closed it & will check through properly now I can read it again, and do the draw in the next day or two and share some more sweet stuff.

Today I have my very late
to share, I expect you have all seen the challenge already but if not the challenge is

This one had me reaching for a cuckoo clock I'd been meaning to put together and decorate. A couple of the piccys are taken inside & the rest outside as the dangleys kept getting blown around and kept facing the wrong way in the outdoor snaps
Ingredients -
Images - all Magnolia
Medium - distressed inks
Paper - Magnolia
Roses - Wild Orchid
Pearls - Hero Arts
Sparkle - dazzling diamonds glimmer mist, crystal glamour dust & diamond stickles

The cuckoo clock is made by Kaiser Crafts and is made of MDF & comes flat packed. I was just in the process of painting it and I remembered I'd done my usual & hadn't taken a before piccy, so minus the white gesso to prime the wood & the balcony fixed together this is what it looked like before I got my hands on it
After I'd primed the wood with gesso I started slapping on loads of picket fence crackle paint, as you know I love this stuff. Once that was nice and dry and all cracked up I papered the base & put it all together.

Here's a close up of the top half of the cuckoo clock.
Rather that leave the hole for the cuckoo I had a brain wave to stamp and colour the gorgeous Magnolia window which fits just perfectly where the hole for the cuckoo was, I then popped a flower box in front and decided one of Tilda's birds would look cute as the cuckoo!
The whole clock has been very generously spritzed with dazzling diamonds glimmer mist and has a gorgeous sparkly shimmer.

Here is a close up of the bottom half of the clock, all those various Magnolia stamps have been coloured, cut and then outlined with a black aquamarker which took hours.

A couple of tips. if you are like me and don't like the white edge around cut out images yet have really fiddly bits that are virtually impossible to cut out without leaving any white surround eg the butterfly's antenna, stamp the butterfly/bee etc onto the paint or paper where you want to place it as well as onto card and colour it and just cut out and 3d the coloured body. Also for outlining the cut out image for a neat finish if you colour with distressed inks use a black Aqua promarker which can easily be removed with a damp paintbrush should you smudge it.

On the danglys I have stuck a couple of super cute mini magnolia's
You don't get the chains for the danglys in with the clock so I have used keyring rings to attach them to the chain and also to attach the chain to the clock. The chain I have made using some jump rings

I'm entering my little clock in the following challenges -
Polka Doodles - home sweet home, Just Magnolia - anything goes, Totally Papercrafts - bingo (gems, glitter, ribbon), My Mum's Craft Shop - something old, something new(stamps except 1 old, Tilda with Kite new), Flutterby Wednesday - open, Truly Scrumptious - things with wings, The Shabby Tea Room - my favourite things, TOMIC - shimmer & pearls, Make It Monday - anything goes, Scrap Creations - anything but a card, Lexi's Creations - a bugs life, Timbroscrapmania - in the garden,  Alphabet - I for insect

A huge thank you for all your lovely comments, I had 86 comments to moderate when naughty blogger let me back in to play, I will do my best to get round to you all but it could take me a while lol.
Whatever you are doing have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by

  63. What a dreadful thing to happen, Mandy! I have been having some minor problems with Blogger myself but nothing even close to what you described. I hope it has been resolved now. Your cuckoo clock is out of this world!!! Like so many others, I am continually blown away by your creativity. This entire project is picture perfect and if you haven't already, you really should consider submitting it for publication somewhere. Welcome back to blogland and I did actually miss receiving my daily emails from you.
