I have always had an issue about making things that I have no use for as I've always thought it a waste of time & products for something that would end up in the bin! Originally I started off by colouring a Stamping Bella image to use & intended making a card with a tag on for this challenge, but when I started rummaging around in my craft room deciding which Ranger products to feature & I decided to attempt something totally different for me!
I'm pleased to say I have at last got over the "no use" issue I had as I just really enjoyed creating this tag which made me realise it doesn't matter if it goes in the bin, as long as you enjoy creating :)
I started off with a large Prima Watercolor paper tag which I gave a light wash of watered down Broken China distress ink. I stamped my French Script stamp with Faded Jeans & randomly stamped this in a couple of places on the tag & then started flicking distress ink over the tag. I kept giving my tag a quick blast with my heat tool as I am too impatient to wait for ink to dry! I then stencilled on some staggered brickwork using white Gesso & once dry spritzed the tag with Perfect Pearls & then added a few more flicks of distress ink & gesso to finish the base.
I've used lots of embellishments & Simon die cuts on my tag & gave everything a white wash with watered down Gesso except for the butterflies which were die cut / punched with SSS Sea Glass card stock.
The Prima roses were white washed & once dry dusted with Perfect Pearls Confetti White powder which is so pretty & sparkly, but not content with that the edges of the petals were also given the Stickles treatment.
While looking through my stash I discovered a small tub with a few quilled shapes in which I made years ago when I thought I would learn how to do quilling but never got around to doing, so I also added the quilled shapes to my tag for some different texture.
I did think after I had finished that I should have googled & watched some tutorials how the mixed media experts create theirs but I think I "winged it" ok for a first attempt lol.
As always our lovely Heidi is sponsoring our challenge with a $50 voucher for the fabulous
That's me finished for today, thanks for stopping by
