Hello lovely peeps,
I've had a few quiet days as I'm suffering from the usual Winter germs that get shared around so I will get straight down to business :)
On to today's project -
& this week our challenge is
ANYTHING GOES

This week I have a Christmas countdown to share instead of a card as my achey little body couldn't cope with sitting at my desk & finishing my DT card and this little project was all finished just waiting to be blogged :)
I wanted to create a countdown that I would be happy to keep on the wall all year round if I wanted to and one that would look better in keeping with my home than any I've seen in the shops.
I started with an old photo frame & several of Simon Says Stamps exclusive products which are all linked at the end of my post :)
I don't often explain how I create items & answer individual emails
when people ask questions, but today I thought I would explain properly
& also save you doing the maths or emailing to ask me if you want to create a similar
countdown :)
First I removed the glass and covered the inside with a piece of Simon Says Stamp's lovely Woodgrain cardstock. I then die cut four different shaped Simon snowflakes and added lots of pretty sparkle to them before randomly adhering to the Woodgrain cardstock. I then screwed into place three tiny hooks which you can get in any hardware shop.
I die cut a total of 26 of Simon's tags & outlined them with a white gel pen, & die cut three each of the Tim Holtz Vintage Market numbers 1,2 & 3, & two each of the numbers 4,5,6,7,8,9 & 0. I also die cut three extra small snowflakes as when the amount of sleeps left is less than 100 as it is today, I can hang a snowflake instead of a number and the same also when the total sleeps left is less than ten, and Christmas Day itself will have three snowflakes instead of numbers.
You could die cut less tags if you wish and adhere numbers to both sides but rather than working out which numbers I would need to stick on each side to have enough I just went with the 26 tags.
I hope all that makes sense :)
For the text I wanted to use the lovely wooden scrabble tiles and was just about to stick them down when I decided to add some extra dimension to the tiles & flipped them over to use the blank side and coloured some wooden Studio Calico letters with a white gel pen & sparkled them before adhering them on the tiles.
As always our lovely Heidi is sponsoring our challenge with a $50 voucher for the fabulous
