Happy DieCember®!

Good afternoon lovely peeps and happy

Written by our lovely Heidi on the Simon Says Stamp blog

Our very first DieCember was in December 2013, and the team is a bit in awe that it's been 10 years already!! I’m not exactly or precisely sure when die cutting became a hot trend in crafting. It’s hard to pinpoint. However, I do know that die cutting has changed the way that we create. Cutting out beautiful and often intricate images is a delightfully fun part of paper crafting. Die cutting embellishes our art in interesting ways. People that aren’t paper crafters are often mystified when they receive a card that has anything die cut involved in the design. If you haven’t experienced this wonderment and awe, be sure to spread some handmade joy this season!

To celebrate dies as one of my most favorite crafty products (after stamps, of course ;)), we are hosting a month-long DieCember® celebration. Throughout the month you will see special features, sales, education, and inspiration that focus on die cutting.

Kicking off our DieCember® celebration is a release of beautiful exclusive wafer-thin dies.

I can't believe it's our 10th DieCember®! I was lucky enough to be with the fabulous Simon Says Stamp before the very first DieCember®  & it's always my favourite release as I love all things Christmas.
Today I have featured the beautiful new Snowflake Hexagon dies which I love and have used to not only create cards but also to decorate presents.

Happy DieCember

It's the 1st December & in our world at Simon Says Stamp that means it's time for this years fabulous
new release.

I ink blended some Broken China distress Oxide over the center area of my card and once dry I stenciled over it using Stormy Sky Distress Oxide with Simon Says Stamps Diagonal Stripe stencil.

I die cut the inner Thank You dies from Simon's new Thank You dies set from the center of my card and then spritzed the background with water before popping the die cuts out.

The Thank You border was die cut using Simon's white wood grain card stock & foam mounted for some added dimension before assembling my sentiment onto my card & adding a few of Simon's Assorted Moonshine sequins to finish.

Gift It! - Simon Says Stamp DT

Good afternoon lovely peeps!
Christmas shopping was a success & I'm pleased to say all presents are bought & wrapped, so I just have Christmas cards to write & post now.
Today I have a longer than usual post to share as I am playing catch up & sharing two cards and also my DT project after having a few technical issues with my lap top which are thankfully now resolved :)

It's Wednesday which means -

 at
& this week our challenge is
GIFT IT!
Make a gift, gift wrap, gift box, gift bag, gift tag, you get the idea!

This week the design team are featuring

My Favorite Things logo

products on our cards.
If you have them we would love to see them but as always it's not compulsory to use them to enter our challenge.

Do you use Instagram?  If so, please add #ssswchallenge to your challenge entry uploads so we can see them on there too.

This week I have created a simple gift tag using MFT's Jumbo Fishtail Banner die to create the base and die cut it using Simon's lovely Sea Glass card stock. I also die cut some white card stock using the next size down die & I then blended some Sea Glass ink in the center.
I have die cut the beautiful Eliza snowflake using Silver Screen card stock and attached it to my tag & stamped a sentiment from Simon's Joy To The World stamp set in Audrey Blue ink

As always our lovely Heidi is sponsoring our challenge with a $50 voucher for the fabulous

Simon has again released lots of lovely new products for DieCember! There really are so many gorgeous goodies in this release, I absolutely love the glitter card stock.

I have created a card using Simon's new Joy To The World Stamp Set & stamped a cute nativity scene with them.

I coloured the images with my copics but got a bit carried away with the colouring and totally forgot to write the copic numbers down, sorry! I heat embossed the stars and then added some pretty sparkle to them using a Wink Of Stella clear glitter marker.

Hello lovely peeps,
Apologies for being so late with my post tonight, it's been one of those days where absolutely nothing has gone to plan!

Today is the start of DieCember at the fabulous

The die I am showcasing is called Callilope Flourish which I wanted to use on a Christmas card to show how versatile it is.
I have die cut this pretty die twice and added lots of lovely sparkle to my die cut and then added a gorgeous snowflake which is another of Simon's dies called Snowflake Cluster.
At last I have got around to sharing a card created using one of Magnolia's adorable new Christmas stamps. This little lady is called Swirly Tilda and I love her.
