Happy New Year - Simon Says Stamp DT

Hello peeps and a very Happy New Year to you all.
I spent the day yesterday fighting to keep my eyes open as I had a very late night / morning and finally got to curl up and sleep at 6.30am, just as my little alarm clocks (cats & dogs) were all ready to get up so by 8.15am & with Diddly cat sat on the side of my face nose to nose with me I gave in and got up again & was stumbling around the kitchen bleary eyed going through the routine of feeding time at the zoo lol.

Have you made any New Year resolutions? I never usually make them but thought I might try this year for a change! One thing I really want to change is to get back to being more organised again! I used to be so organised before the strong painkillers & I used to make more cards and post them on my blog  but now in my brain fuddled haze I just muddle through the days & always seem to be busy stumbling around not knowing what I'm doing but don't seem to get anything done although the tablets do work brilliantly as I  have either little or no pain! My doctor finally agreed to give me some lower strength painkillers just before Christmas with the agreement that after New Year I can try & find the right level of dose for my body rather than only prescribe the high strength my consultant says I need to cope with my injury. Yes it's going to hurt & it's going to be hard but I can always take the high dose if it gets too bad & try again the next day where as at the moment I either need to rush & get cards made, blog posts scheduled, go shopping etc while I am suffering with the pain but my brain is working or pop painkillers & be comfortable & spend a wonderful day away with the fairies getting nothing done lol.

Today is new challenge day at
& this week our challenge is Simon Says -
SOMETHING NEW

My something new is New Year and new stamps. You can either join in with a "new theme" such a year, baby, job, home etc or show us some of your new stash & please tell us what it is :)

Don't forget to visit the SIMON SAYS STAMP STORE BLOG  peeps for inspiration, candy and lots of  lovely new or featured products.

They look so cute together :)

Look at how cute my beautiful little angel Daisy Mae is, I can't tell you how much I love & spoil this little one :) In all honesty she is the naughtiest cat I have ever known, but so full of character, if there was an ASBO for cats she would have one lol. She steals recycles from the neighbours & brings home just cooked sausages, bacon, sausage rolls etc, we know they are just cooked as they are usually hot / warm and we usually hear one of the neighbours shout "Daisy Mae" just before she appears & it's not even as if she eats them she just puts them in front of me meowing loudly so proud of her finds lol. In her defence the little darling knows her mummy doesn't like cooking so she's being kind providing for our family & trying to save me from having to attempt the cooking ordeal, yes I have a defence for everything she does lol.
Hubs wants to pack Christmas away today & as much as I love the lights and tree I am fed up with dusting my baubles! Yes I dust my baubles which my lovely friend Liz finds hilarious, my tree goes up on December 1st so of course they need dusting! I thought this was normal but since Liz found it funny I asked several friends if they dust their baubles & they have also looked at me in horror and I always get you shriek "You dust your baubles" followed but lots of laughter so maybe not, but I'll just give them a quick dust before packing them away lol.

I am joining our lovely Debby again in sharing my 5 favourite cards of the year.
It's never easy deciding which I like best, some I look at & wonder what on earth I was thinking at the time as the card is blooming awful lol, & some I am happy with which is rare for me.
I've linked the title's to the original post if anybody wants a closer peek!

May Your Day Be Special - Addicted To Stamps DT

Hello peeps & Happy Christmas to you all,
The last 2 days in my house have been soooooooo busy, 6 new Magnolia stamps arrived on Friday morning & I still haven't even got around to inking them up which shows it's been a mad house lol.
Ali & I popped to church for our usual Carols around the crib sing song on Christmas Eve & they only had a real donkey that they were attempting to get into the church which had me in a bit of a panic as I love them but need to pop antihistamines & inhalers before I can go near a horse/donkey as I'm alergic to them & it amused Ali no end & she was willing that donkey to come in, it's wonderful to have such a supportive friend lol.

Today is new challenge day at
& this fortnight our challenge is
e.g - NewYear, Home, Baby etc

I haven't had time to finish the card I had planned on using so instead I am sharing a creation I made for an ex DT teamie as it fits the New Year theme. To be honest I freaked out when I saw the name that was picked for me to make something for as the her style couldn't be more different from mine so I did try & keep it as plain as possible & I didn't even use glitter, lace, or roses, it's all wrong I tell you, I just hope she doesn't hate it too much lol.
Ingredients -
Image & Sentiment - Magnolia
Medium - Copics
Paper - K & Co, a gift from lovely Mummy x
Calendar - Anita's
Tools - MS PATP, Woodware mini butterfly punch, Magnolia Doo Hickey heart swirls, EK Success mini flower punch

Yesterday my lovely Simon Says Stamp teamie Debby invited everyone to share their 5 favourite Christmas cards of 2011, as I didn't make it to blogland yesterday I will share mine today
I'm going to whizz through these now and predictably there is a Tilda or 4 among them lol.
I am really critical about my own cards and for once this little card just kind of fell into place I was actually pleased with it when I eventually decided which embeilles to add lol.

I really enjoyed making this little card with Herb on & I made this with my lovely Auntie Jenny & Uncle Pete in mind

This little gift bag & book card took hours to make, Jodie loved them so to me that's time well spent

This little Tilda book card went off down the motorway to my baby sis and was another I really enjoyed making, then again give me any Magnolia stamp to play with and I'm happy lol
Finally this little card is was for a lovely lady and one Gareth asked me to make, little Tilda is adorable & oooooh just look at all those scrummy embellies lol.

Thant's me done peeps, I'm off to have a play with my new Copic sketch pens my lovely mommy bought me :)
