Gift It! - Simon Says Stamp DT

Good afternoon lovely peeps!
Christmas shopping was a success & I'm pleased to say all presents are bought & wrapped, so I just have Christmas cards to write & post now.
Today I have a longer than usual post to share as I am playing catch up & sharing two cards and also my DT project after having a few technical issues with my lap top which are thankfully now resolved :)

It's Wednesday which means -

 at

This week I have created a simple gift tag using MFT's Jumbo Fishtail Banner die to create the base and die cut it using Simon's lovely Sea Glass card stock. I also die cut some white card stock using the next size down die & I then blended some Sea Glass ink in the center.
I have die cut the beautiful Eliza snowflake using Silver Screen card stock and attached it to my tag & stamped a sentiment from Simon's Joy To The World stamp set in Audrey Blue ink

As always our lovely Heidi is sponsoring our challenge with a $50 voucher for the fabulous

Simon has again released lots of lovely new products for DieCember! There really are so many gorgeous goodies in this release, I absolutely love the glitter card stock.

I have created a card using Simon's new Joy To The World Stamp Set & stamped a cute nativity scene with them.

I coloured the images with my copics but got a bit carried away with the colouring and totally forgot to write the copic numbers down, sorry! I heat embossed the stars and then added some pretty sparkle to them using a Wink Of Stella clear glitter marker.

My last card today features the adorable little Picture Book Happy Penguin wafer die from the DieCember release.

I die cut Simon's 3 Sided Scallop wafer die to create my base and embossed a snowfall background using Taylored Expressions Snowfall embossing folder I die cut the cute penguin in black and white glitter card stock and popped him onto the card & added a heat embossed sentiment from Simon's Joy To The World stamp set. For this weeks challenge I have created two different Christmas Gift Tags featuring lots of Simon's lovely products.

To create this little tag I stamped Simon's Christmas Sweater background stamp in Versamark Watermark ink onto white card stock & heat embossed it using white embossing powder.
I stamped the cute Nutcracker image & baubles form the Retro Christmas stamp set in Memento ink onto X-Press Copic card stock & coloured the image with copics. The "To You From Me" sentiment stamp is also from the same Retro Christmas stamp set.
I fussy cut my little Nutcracker & baubles, added a little sparkle & then foam mounted them onto my tag. I then added some May Arts Twine & Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops to finish.

The copic colours I've used are -
skin - E11, E00, E000, R30, hair - C3, C1, C00, mouth - R59, R56, R39, clothes - E35, E33, E31 / YR24, YR21, YR20 / C9, C7, C5. baubles - E44, E43, E41 / E42, E41, E40 / W4, W2, W0 / C3, C1, C00.

My second tag today features Simon's lovely Holiday Tree Medallion stencil which I have stenciled on white card stock in Broken China distress ink. I then added some flicks of colour using some other distress inks in Faded Jeans & Salty Ocean & also added some tiny drops of Simply White Nuvo Crystal Drops to the background.
I die cut the word "Winter" from Simon's Winter Snow wafer die set in blue glitter card from Heidi Swapp's Marquee paper pad & die cut a couple of pretty snowflakes using Simon's Stitched Snowflakes die & popped these on my tag along with some twine & larger crystal drops.

Tag You're It! - Simon Says Stamp DT

Good afternoon lovely peeps!

My DT project this week turned out absolutely nothing at all like I intended!

It's Wednesday which means -
 at
& this week our challenge is
Tag You're It!
this week the design team are featuring some fabulous
Ranger logo
products on our cards this week.
If you have them we would love to see them but as always it's not compulsory to use them to enter our challenge.

I have always had an issue about making things that I have no use for as I've always thought it a waste of time & products for something that would end up in the bin! Originally I started off by colouring a Stamping Bella image to use & intended making a card with a tag on for this challenge, but when I started rummaging around in my craft room deciding which Ranger products to feature & I decided to attempt something totally different for me!
I'm pleased to say I have at last got over the "no use" issue I had as I just really enjoyed creating this tag which made me realise it doesn't matter if it goes in the bin, as long as you enjoy creating :)

I started off with a large Prima Watercolor paper tag which I gave a light wash of watered down Broken China distress ink. I stamped my French Script stamp with Faded Jeans & randomly stamped this in a couple of places on the tag & then started flicking distress ink over the tag. I kept giving my tag a quick blast with my heat tool as I am too impatient to wait for ink to dry! I then stencilled on some staggered brickwork using white Gesso & once dry spritzed the tag with Perfect Pearls & then added a few more flicks of distress ink & gesso to finish the base.
I've used lots of embellishments & Simon die cuts on my tag & gave everything a white wash with watered down Gesso except for the butterflies which were die cut / punched with SSS Sea Glass card stock.

The Prima roses were white washed & once dry dusted with Perfect Pearls Confetti White powder which is so pretty & sparkly, but not content with that the edges of the petals were also given the Stickles treatment.
While looking through my stash I discovered a small tub with a few quilled shapes in which I made years ago when I thought I would learn how to do quilling but never got around to doing, so I also added the quilled shapes to my tag for some different texture.

I did think after I had finished that I should have googled & watched some tutorials how the mixed media experts create theirs but I think I "winged it" ok for a first attempt lol.
