The Jolly Elf & A Mini Tutorial

Hello peeps,
No you aren't seeing things I am back with a second post today, very rare I know but I started this little card on Monday & added the finishing touches after watching Ireland win their game of rugby this morning. It's been a good weekend for me rugby wise England and Ireland both won, woo hoo, I'm a bit worried about our Johnny though he's not his usual amazing self, fingers crossed he's back on form next weekend.

Ian and Jodie have just gone off on his motorbike to the beach to top up their tans as it is so bizzarely hot and sunny for October, I am so jealous I could just do with some nice fish and chips at the seaside but it looks like spag bol at home for me sob sob, lol.
Ingredients -
Medium - Copics
Papers - Raspberry Road
Flowers - Kort & Godt, Prima & Wild Orchid
Lace - stash & Wild Orchid (I think!)
Pearls - Hero Arts
Charm - Darice

Copics - Skin, E000, E00, EO1, E11, R20, Hair - E25, E31, E50, Dress & Hat - E50, E51, E53, Tights & Dress patches - E00, E0000

I've added lots of crystal glamour dust for that lovely sparkle, and my pin is homemade. All of the little snowflakes scattered about are from the Aspen PATP

I'm entering my card in the following challenges -
TOMIC - sketch & inspirational piccy, Winter Wonderland - how charming, Crafty Emma's - totally gorjuss/pretty girls, Top Tip Tuesday - 2 or more lace

Mini tutorial of the boxes I make to send my cards in -

The most frequently asked question I get is "what size envelopes do you make or buy to send cards in using the punch around the page border (PATP)"
The answer is I don't use envelopes I always make boxes as these also stop the flowers getting squashed so I've done a quick tutorial showing the boxes I make. Apologies the piccys aren't the best I did try taking them outside but I couldn't find any shade to take them.

INGREDIENTS -
2 x 8.4" (21cm square) thick cardstock - 250 or 300gsm
Crafters Companion Top score multiboard
Scissors
Bone folder
Mini pegs
Strong glue

The card I use is generally A4 which is perfect as it's already the correct width I just have to cut it lengthways to make it square

When you look at the multiboard at the side with lots of lines you will see in the bottom right corner it will either say Box Base or Box Lid.

To make the box base I've taken my white card and scored all the way around on the first line where it says BOX BASE, if you don't have this board the score is at 1.7cm
Flip the board around to make the lid and on the next piece of card (I've used coloured card for the lid) score all the way around on the first line where it says BOX LID, again if you don't have this board the score lines are at 1.5cm this time. The 2mm difference ensures the lid will sit over the base properly, if you forget to flip your board around which I have done in the past you will end up with either 2 lids or 2 bases which won't work together.
 .
I then snip all of the corners as shown, crease the score lines, add a small amount of glue to the corner flaps and hold with a mini peg to allow the glue to dry

That's all done, you should now have a perfect size box for the larger cards with the PATP borders.
I hope I've explained properly and this helps, if not feel free to ask anything you aren't sure of.

Don't forget our anything goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp, please come and join us and link up anything you have made since our challenge started on Wednesday we are trying to reach our 1000 entries again
Photobucket

That's me done peep's I'm off to attempt a little tidy up of my craft room and catch up with some more blogging as I can't manage a walk along the beach at the moment, sob sob lol.

Tweet little hAnglar - Addicted To Stamps DT Card

Good morning peeps,
I have managed to hoover, yaaaaayyyyyyyy lol. You know how much I love hoovering, well I couldn't cope any longer my withdrawal symptoms were too severe lol. It was too painful to stand up and hoover normally but where there's a will there's a way, so I was on my knees hoovering with just the pipe, yes it took forever so I had a few breaks in between rooms to give poor Henry a rest I didn't want him over heating but I did it, trouble is it needs doing again now lol.

Something else I've learnt except for new ways to hoover is I should listen to more sensible friends!!!
The lovely Kate was worried it might not be safe for me to attempt crafting while so doped up on Diazepam and she could well be right!
I had planned on doing a little tutorial last week but for some strange reason I took 4 new Duracell batteries out of their box and popped them in the battery charger & switched it on, duh! They popped, they hissed and spewed a mess all down the wall and floor & I still didn't twig what I'd done, it was only when I told Jode I was going to take the batteries and charger back to the shop because they were dangerous and had blown up she pointed out why, oops lol.

Today is new challenge day at
and this fortnight we have a

Photobucket

I am hoping to return to normal blogging this week, it is taking me ages to make a card or leave my DT comments as I find my back pain feels better if I don't stay sat still for too long but it is feeling loads better than it did so I am going to try and have a Diazepam free day today, fingers crossed.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the very hot October sunshine if you are as lucky as us and have it

Snowflakes, Snowflakes & More Snowflakes - Simon Says Stamp DT Card

Good morning peeps,
This card seems a bit strange to me!!! Puzzled, I know I am lol. This was my DT card that I had almost finished for last weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge post but due to being in so much pain I couldn't put the finishing touches to it so didn't join my lovely teamies for last weeks challenge, and I think this is why it seems strange as I haven't actually made a whole card for today's challenge I've just adapted it a bit if you know what I mean, and if you haven't a clue what I mean, just give up lol.

This weeks challenge is at
is

This week my lovely teamies and I are showcasing BRADS, and I'm kind of still showcasing MY FAVOURITE THINGS from last week showcase special too lol.

This is my 3rd Christmas card this month so I am entering Hjertbodens Christmas Challenge to make 3 cards a month, my others can be found HERE & HERE

I can't remember which sketch I had originally started following but luckily I hadn't attached the image so I adapted it and popped a panel in so it fits a current sketch.
I really must try and catch up with some challenges, I'm just struggling to spend long periods of time on my laptop I keep having to get up and shuffling around or it feels like my back is seizing up, but a big thank you to all the lovely peeps who've taken the time to alert me to some challenge wins
I'm entering my card in the following challenges -

I'm on day 15 of no hoovering, it's killing me girls but rest assured as soon as my my back pain lets me I'll be making the most of it & even hoovering the ceilings lol.
Jodie attempted to hoover the other day as hubby was going to work & had left her instructions to do it to keep me happy, I couldn't cope with watching & she was shocked to discover upstairs needed hoovering as well !!!! When she'd finished she flopped in the chair and said "why the hell do you do that every day mum, I'm knackered" lol.

Boozy Beer Mats - Totally Tilda DT

Good morning peeps,
I can't believe I haven't posted on my blog for a whole week!
I wasn't able to join my lovely Simon Says Stamp or Paper Play girlie's this week as I've been in so much pain I have been unable to sit at my desk in my craft room and finish my DT projects.
I am getting really annoyed with myself now & how I am so limited in what I can do at the moment, so I'm a right grump lol. I had no idea how painful a slipped disc is, I haven't even hoovered or slept in my bed for 12 days now, the doctor said a memory foam mattress is a definite no no for sleeping on with a slipped disc so I did as she said and tried to sleep on the floor which was hell getting down on the floor and I must have looked like a beached whale trying to get up off the floor so haven't tried that again lol. I'm not missing hubby's snoring but I don't half miss my hoovering lol.
Whinging over lets get down to business.

Today is new challenge day at
& this fortnight the challenge is

Thankfully Jodie nabbed me some beer mats for this challenge when she did some bar work in the holidays so I had everything planned & die cut, stamped & coloured, embellies sorted etc all ready in a tray waiting to be put together and all I had to do was cut my designer paper and assemble while propped up on my sofa. There was going to be a fourth little mat attached but these 3 took a ridiculous amount of days to make & I couldn't manage to do anymore so it's stayed as a 3 beer mat wall hanging which I'm quite pleased with despite not looking forward to this challenge I really enjoyed making them lol.
As always those fabulous Tilda girlie's have some gorgeous inspiration for you, pop over and take a peek.
All images have been coloured with Copics, the flowers are a mix of Prima, Kort & Godt & Wild Orchid, all the edges have been distressed with Vintage Photo distressed ink, and the sparkle is Platinum & Stardust Stickles. I've used a Cropodile to set the eyelets, all images are cut out with nesties & the ribbons are from my stash.

Ingredients for the top beer mat -
Tools - Magnolia Doo Hickeys, Tilda Lace, & Old Oak tree, Woodware mini butterfly punch, MS Frond leaf punch

Ingredients for the middle beer mat -
Ingredients for the bottom beer mat -
Magnolia mini scarecrow Tilda, Melissa Frances & Kraft paper, Prima lace, Homemade pin, Raffia & skeleton leaves from stash
Tools - Magnolia Doo Hickey, Tilda lace, Heart swirls, Marianne Creatables decorative elegance die

I'm entering my wall hanging in the following challenges -
TOMIC - Fall & the sketch.
Crafts 4 Eternity - Autumn days
Crafty Purple Frog - Fall into Fall
Hanna & Friends - anything goes

A little reminder that there is one more week left to enter our
